Oh dude, nice GTO
I love the black on......oh wait.......oh....oh sorry man my bad.....
.......... j/k
I love the Cobalt SS/SC
I was trying to convince my wife to get one, preferably in yellow. I love the look, the finish, the sound, everything about that car attracts me.
Unfortunetly she is dead set on the 350Z. I told her "dont be pissed and come asking me to help you mod when you start getting your ass handed to you by Cobalts left and right" :shakehead

thanks, i could have gotten a used ls1 GTO, but i dont think i could have afforded the gas nor the insurance on it. Maybe when they bring the GTO back, if it still looks as sexy as it does now, ill get it as my next car.

apparently, cause your also the only person who thinks this car has a front mount intercooler. Its got an air-water interrcooler. The intercooler is after the supercharger and imediately before the engine. Water is pumped through coils that the compressed air passes through which cools the air imediately before it goes into the engine.

So it does have an intercooler? Is that what makes it a better performing car than the supercharged z24. BTW, what did you do with it?
Anyway, nice car. 18s seem rather strange to me on any 4 cylinder though...

I'm sorry but the factory wheels just have to be one of the most unimaginative wheels ever. :(
The car as a whole is nice, I think GM stepped in the right direction with the Cobalt when they finally layed the J-Body to rest after some 20 years. Cool little cars, ugly wheels.

Low to mid 14's I believe. Looks great. Are you an impulse buyer? I'm not trying to criticize (b/c I am) but you just had a thread on what kind of car you should buy and then a few days later your driving it around...lol. Either way, nice pick.
Edit: I don't mind the wheels either. They may not have an aftermarket look but they stiil look OK for stock.

I spent months, casually researching my car and finding the perfect one, haggling over price, getting it tested ect
and Jayson says one day "Hey, Im buying a Cobalt SS" ...so he walks over to the dealership and gets it
She looks great man...Good buy...Enjoy crushing morons like me in RSX's because we have no torque...:banghead: that generates more torque then my car does

nice SS, definitly one of the better looking american cars. i use to not like the stock wheels, but it is really growing on me.
also mushashi, theres nothing wrong with a 350Z, it may be harder to mod then a cobalt SC/SS, but it looks better and is better built and its just a better overal car in my opinion. i would love to own a 350z. thats probrably one of hte only new cars i would trade my 240 for.

^ I like the 350Z also but my wife wants it for the wrong reasons! she thinks its a straight away street car! she dosent get the whole JDM Touge sports car concept.....she will be dissapointed.
She should of gotten the GTO and I should get the Z.....hey thats not a bad idea....this fucking car is giving me a bad rep anyway and quite frankly I rather be autocrossing then drag racing. perhaps I should just get her the Z and trade her. and yes im serious.

Look at the crappy Chevy. You should have bought a Dodge!
:grinno:
Go to Tirerack.com then look up all the wheels that fit the ss/sc and buy the black ASA 5 spoke wheels. Then you will have some kick ass wheels that are lighter than stock and are better looking. It'll also shut all these fools up.

well ive been wanting a Cobalt SS S/C for a while, and i will admit i am an impulse buyer, but usually when i buy on impulse its something i really want, like this car. And i am more than happy with it, and can afford it easily enough financially. Im gonna be light on the mods for a year or so while i pay off some credit card debt, no moer than stage 2.
After ripping it through the gears a few times, id have to say its faster than my Cavy, which seems odd cause my cavy was right around the same times as the cobalt, but we will see at 1,000 miles, thats when i plan on taking it to the track to give her a test run.
My GF is also gonna take my cavy, and were gonna race, its gonna be cool.

I knew the SS was faster than your Cavy. :p
They crappy ET's don't tell the whole story, cause this car has serious issues off the line, but if you get to 40 mph in second and just mash the gas it climbs through the powerband very quickly and jump keeps pulling harder. But for some reason it hates 1st gear.
Oh yeah, when you get the stg2 from GM, don't use their pully, get a 2.9 inch pully. The GM stg2 tune is still very rich and the slightly smaller pulley works well with the rich mixture and leans it out a bit. Also, do yourself a favor and get a CAI of some sort, or at least do the airbox mod with a cone filter. A blown car without the blower whine is no fun.

Nice Cobalt. I like it in black it goes good with the shadow grey rims. Does anybody remember when they first showed the Cobalt SS Supercharged, it had 5-spoke (I can't remember what material they where exactly but I think they were like forged aluminum or something) wheels, I think they should have put those into production but they still did an awesome job with the Cobalt SS/SC.

The wheels you're thinking about were made by Hart racing, and they were cool ass wheels and most of the SS guys are pissed that our cars didn't come with those instead of these 25 pound wheels.

I'd get these wheels for it in 17" if it fits:

17's are too small for that car. when you see what a car comes with stock, stepping down in size doesn't make sense, not to mention how odd it would look rolling around in smaller wheels.

I think it would look fine with 17" wheels as long as it was lower than stock height.
IMHO, black wheels with polished lip on a black car is too common and you can't even see the spokes. Just get silver wheels.

Nice looking car, bro. I see the Fed ex truck in one of the pics. Damn, you already ordering crap for it to make it go faster? At least get the first tank of gas through it. :grinyes: Anyway, the wheels look perfect for now. Get a few miles on it, then start modding the hell out of it. :naughty:

You have it saved on a Word doc???
FedEx dropped it off??? :icon16:
For some reason, a completely stock car always feels faster. My friends Z06 was dead nuts even with my Trans Am (before motor) but felt like it pulled a decent amount harder.

Congrats J-bird. About time you found something new. So what exactly did you get rid of the Cavy for? Price wise that is. I don't think I ever read up on you selling it. Welp, congratulations again on the new buy. Hope to see some vids of you rippin in it.
