the middle number should measure how tall the walls of the tires are.

a 225/40/18 is 8.86" wide with a 3.54" sidewall making it 25.08" tall. Stock is 25.7 so not only are they not wide enough but not tall enough. Go with a 245/40/18. They are 9.65" wide with a 3.86" sidewall making it 25.72" tall.

first number is the width of the tire, second number is the aspect ratio (how tall the sidewall is, as a % of the width), 3rd number is the rim size.

oh yea, and the letter in there is the speed rating.

yea, just look at the tirerack link Igo posted...

Always go with "Z" rated IMO... Always worth it!

V or H speed rating is more than enough.
