girls...

You know what..sometimes girls can suck my left nut.
:monkeypis Stupid Girls
Mind you, there are some cool girls out there. My ex re-built a '67 celica engine. By herself. She actually knew what the pistons DID..let alone what they were.
Do some donuts in her front lawn. Trust me, you'll feel alot better. :smoker2:
note to all you guys with girlfriends, or girls you like: Never, under any circumstances even if you have to be shot in the face or something..let your girl (or girl you like) drive your car. It may seem like a good idea at the time..but if a girl can't handle the mad power that most of us have..then she'll do somethingbad. Like think the "R" stands for race mode. Let me tell you something, it doesnt. Especially going 90 down the freeway.
The girl who 'likes' me now has a 6-speed '67 shelby cobra GT 500 (green w/ white racing stripes) and her dad's got a 2000 Viper GTSR. By the way, the GT 500 has 2 20 lb. tanks of NOS in the back.
Hmm...i smell a wonderful relationship

Let me state that nobody without a ounce of car common sense will ever drive my car. Man, woman - it doesn't matter.
NiGhtRider_RS
08-15-2002, 11:42 AM
Then let me say that you have much more common sense than i did a few months ago:rolleyes:
You know how it goes..girl you like..she likes your car..want her to like you. I taught her how to drive, too. Now she bought a firebird, but its slower than my camaro
Now that i've got mods..no way anyone's drivin' it.

 stereotypes (http://www.theonion.com/onion3829/stereotypes.html)
On the contrary, my ex treated my car a lot worse than I do, and he was a male who supposedly knew about cars. For example, he would deliberately tap the gas at slow speeds to make the car jerk...I think that overall his respect for my car was a good indicator of his respect for me at the time.

In retrospect this isnt bad really...
I thought you were going to say doubble clutching all the time, or rallying it, maby redlining it, using it to play "move the dumpster" or whatever
My girl, I want her to learn on my car, because she has a great respect for cars, and just got her permit, she wont though, shes too worried shell hurt my car :) She told me though, as soon as she gets good and gets a car, shes racing me
Ahhhh, women who know cars, something about that just makes me smile :D

yeah man!
that's how i knew that ally was a keeper
1. she prefers Manual Transmission over Automatic
2. she knows how to repair minor problems in cars such as brakes, oil, alternator, clutch etc.
3. she hates the kind of mentality that some people have where a car is just a machine that gets you from point a to point b
4. she knows alot of car facts
5. she also hates how alot of people just like a car because of it's looks and don't care if the car is a base model or has no real power and that they just care about it because they think that it makes them look good in it
6. when i get my 240-SX, she won't let me sell it! she'd probably want to build a car to beat me in a race
that's true love right there
now remember if your significant other wants you to sell your car/truck/bike that you've spent hours on, that person isn't the one

Their inital advertising campaign involved two farmers 1 old and 1 younger. They were discussing how the yonger one had found the perfect woman. The one catch was "she doesn't drink speights but"

Guys are assholes.
End of story.
Not even I am an exception. My only saving grace is that I think slushy sucks. Today I had to drive the minivan w/chromies, and I couldn't figure out where the clutch was to start it :o My bad. But back on track... Yeah, we suck, but so do you guys, so it's all even in the end.

THERE A LOT OF OVER-SIMPLIFICATION HERE....:( :( :( :(
All of us have the potential to be bitches/assholes if we so choose. Most of us choose to at some stage in our lives. Some of us are ashamed when it happens, others seem to promote it as a lifestyle option, and revel in the misery that it is causing.
Even if you think that you have found the perfect partner, you are always going to get the odd knockdown when you least expect it.You just have to roll with it and resist the urge to lash out in return..The trick is to figure out if your new partner is going to make a habit of it.

Well put there Mr. T!
But as humans, we all make mistakes and emotions will normally take control of who we are, so in the end....$hit happens. Just get over it, Stress release is probably the place anywhere for it, except taking a bat and beatting an old car or anything else that makes sounds when busting.

No it is not THAT HARD. If you really want to learn and have the basic abiltiy to learn then it shouldn't take too long. It just takes patients (especially the person teaching you) and practice

You'll never go back to slushy once you get the manual tranny down. I couldn't imagine life w/o Sophie (my G20's name) and her manual tranny. I even have gotten a much better understanding of how cars work just from driving it. I even adjusted my clutch back into specs on Sunday almost all by myself. It's so rewarding to do your own work and to understand these things, IMHO.
Just drive it until it becomes "automatic". I learned in under a week.

I'm a girl and I'm all that and more babe. Why the hell would you ever ever want an automatic? I hate them the just piss me off. cant judge a car by its P/J look under the hood and THEN and ONLY then will you know what kind of power you have. Rebuilding an engine is the most fun in the world. The only problem that I have is that someguys think that they know more than me about my car and they fuck it up and then I have to put it back together again. Why dont some guys get it when I'd rather fix my car or go out and buy another tank of NOS than go out to eat at a nice restraunt with valets who fuck my car up more?

No offense intended, but why would you even want Nitrous oxide??? It's a huge waste of money, and unless you race track it's really not worth the extra uumph, IMHO. I'd hope to God you're not using that stuff on the streets.
Granted, I probably am just jaded b/c I've never driven with the aid of Nitrous, but I prefer to modify other things instead with far less bearing on the engine.

For congested city traffic or towing, the automatic is the way to go. Which is why most of the Japanese Second Imports that get brought over are autos.
For anything else, I go for a 'stick' or a manual as we can them here. I find it frustrating driving an auto after driving a manual for so long - I can set up the car by selecting the gear BEFORE I go into the corner and not have to worry about the lobotomised brain in the gearbox deciding to change down a gear as I accelerate. Or worse change up a gear on a trailing throttle when I'm trying to flick a car from understeer to oversteer.
And don't laugh but the last rental auto I drove in QT, I accelerated off up the road, went to change gear to pass a truck and stomped really hard with my left foot as I knocked the selector back two gears. Unfortunately, I didn't have the third pedal installed in the auto so I thumped the brake pedal with my left foot and nearly ate the steering wheel as the car braked heavily in a cloud of road grit...
Bloody autos!

Autos can be better than manuals for drag, and drag ONLY, a track should be used with a manual.
My first car was a 3 speed manual (67 mustang)
I'm on car 3 now, with an auto and its great for launching, and it shifts well. I'm jaded because the tranny I have seems to know when to shift pretty well, and sence its wide ratio its great on the freeway. Manual is easy to learn really, you just have to be carefull to not miss a shift when racing, or downshift too soon bouncing off your revlimiter...or worse...(crank failure, bearing faluire, oil burn up, overall bad times)
People who say autos are bad dont know much about them, or how to buld them right.
