It is beautiful, isn't it.

3.8L 200hp engine. Could use some new shocks, but the car I bought for $1350, and it runs amazingly well. And yes, it was a copcar.

get her painted (all the same color), dual exhaust, tint the windows, spoiler, and some decent rims and you'll have something.

No freakin' way!!

Get a spotlight, a thicket of different sized antennas, and put some blue and red reflectors on the dash, and get out there and scare the crap outta people!  (The St Louis city cops use stock black Impala SS's for DWI enforcement vehicles...always fun to tail a drunk and make him sweat it all the way...:grinyes: )

Heh, yeah, thanks. I'll try to get some pics of the interior up sometime this week. And I am definitally keeping it this color. When i get the extra cash, yes there will be a spotlight, and I am gunna do something with writing on the side. Do you guys know if it is illegal to get police lights that go on top, then change the colors?

that's a pretty sweet (9c3?). I just bought a '99 LTZ (same engine) recently. I'd leave it the way it is for a while, like jeffco said, you could really cause some people to piss their pants. Come flying up behind them on the highway or do a U turn (if no real cops are around)and get behind them. You gotta have some fun with it before (if) you paint it. By the way, how many miles are on it???

I'd say it depends on what state you live in. You'd have to check your laws.

hmmm, okay. And there are 113k miles on it. But it was really well maintained. New oil ever 3k miles, and new brake pads every 6kmiles. It was a cop car, really well maintained one. YEAH, cuz i know people would definitally be scurrd if I had lights on top. But I'm just starting my Junior year in HS. So I'll prob have it at least til college.

Most states I'm aware of, blue and green lights are reserved for emergency vehicles...use of red (rear facing) and yellow or white is permitted..

Here, forward facing strobes are permitted also, if only used in the same way as using high beams to signal intent to pass, etc...the SS had those also...people get the hell outta your way fast on the highway:evillol:

Probably not in Illinois. You can't do anything here!! (I don't know this from personal experience) I have some friends, though.. Poor guy got pulled over for speeding in his truck. Got warnings or tickets for....no front license plate, loud exhaust, tires sticking too far out on the sides, no mud flaps, tinted windows, hood obstruction (hood scoop). I thought hell I'm glad I don't pay his insurance!! It's been fun guys...I gotta go to work!!

Yeah, Illinois are Nazis about lotsa things...low speed limits, handgun ownership, motor vehicle ordinances...

I start school next week. :( And green lights are reserved for emergency? I've never seen green ones in florida. Red and blue I know are illegal here, but I don't know if anything else is.

Some departments here are experimenting with unusual colors..green and purple mainly....my cop friends tell me it's to see if the unfamiliar lighting color demands more attention from the typical brain-dead motorist...they are seeing if incidences of rear-ending police cars making a traffic stop or working accidents drop with the unusual lighting...also studies have shown that drunks react sooner to unexpected emergency lighting colors...instead of drawing a bead on them as I'm sure you've seen in many videos...

yeah illinois does suck :flipa: go wisconsin!!

you'd have to be really careful and read the statutes very thoroughly about putting lights on top of your car, and make sure you never try and fake being a cop and actually use the lights to pull someone over. that's where you could really get into trouble.

I live in Michigan and I used to have a blue '96 lumina and one night we were out messing around with some friends and I had my 2,000,000 candlepower spot light in the back seat and shined it on my friends in front of us and 2 hours later when I went home there was a cop car sitting in my driveway waiting for me. They said they got 3 calls all at once about me impersonating a cop. They wanted to arrest me and impound my car for impersonating a cop. They let me off with a warning because I was so young back then. But around here they take it very serious. They've even hassled us about using stobes while we were parked in a parking lot. So you can do whatever you want, but know the consequences and what might happen if you do that.

Shoulda heard the speech I got while riding my 1990 Kawasaki KZ1000 Police Special home from the auction (with red and blues and siren still installed)...they told me I had to remove the stuff before riding it, but did I listen? OH HELL NO... What fun would that be?:banghead:

They can spook you pretty good about that whole impersonation deal, huh?:cwm27:

Come to think of it, that's how I learned everything I stated earlier about the laws here regarding lighting...he pretty much read the entire section to me...:uhoh:

Yeah, i wouldn't pull anyone over. Might turn the lights on as I'm going to a party. That would scare the fuck out of everyone. But mostly just to have on top what look like lights, cuz if people see the lights, they know they should slow down [even if they arn't on].
