Hi I have a Ford F-150 with a 300 6cyl
Can a low Battery cause my truck to not run right
when the motor is running. It is dieing while going down the road...
Also the battery that is on the truck is not the right cranking
amps it was that way when i bought the truck i don't know
if that would make it not run right or not. The alternator is
still good to.
Thanks jeepjones85

Don't know about your vehicle, but I have seen problems with Volvos when the battery is bad. Places like Autozone will test your charging system and battery for free.

Be sure to check both ends of the power and ground battery cables! My brother had an F-150 on which the battery ground was attached to the engine via an oil pan bolt. When the engine warmed up, the oil pan bolt elongated enought to lose its clamping force, and the truck would sputter, lose power, and sometimes die. When it died, it couldn't be started. It would crank over very slowly. He thought the engine was binding and was going to replace it! A voltage drop test between the battery terminal and the engine block while cranking diagnosed the real problem, and relocating the ground cable to a more substantial bolt cured it.

late... but low amps can make the computer not work and cause it to definitely run like doo-doo.
