A/C fuse location...please help!

Hello,
I just replaced my thermostat housing, got my 95 Passat GLX running again. Now the a/c doesn't work. Fans work, temp control works, but when I hit the A/C button, the compressor doesn't kick on. I did have the cooling fan harness unplugged, and I see that the A/C is on a fuse with this fan...but the fan still works fine. My owners manual shows there is another A/C fuse (30amp) "above the relays" Where is this? I looked at the small black plastic box looking plugs just above the fuse box, and I see a 30amp 12V green colored metal fuse hiding behind them. Is this it? Is there a way to test this? Does this sound like my problem? It has plenty of refrigerant, and a month ago, just before the thermo housing went, it would freeze you to death. Any help is appreciated. I need to get it back on the road...with A/C. Thanks, Brad
