engine air intake all messed up

Okay! Last week on my 92 RS camaro 3.1L engine we couldn't get the fuel injector to spray. We figured out that it was a computer problem and finally got it to work but now everything is a mess. The injector sprays and the engine acts like it is going to fire but then it pops and blows exhaust out of the intake. I'm so confused. It's like the engine is sucking air up the exhaust vent and blowing air out of the intake, almost like the engine is running backwards. What should I do? Is it a timing issue of what?

it sounds like the timing is WAY off, set the timeing.

Take one of the valve covers off and turn the crank pulley with a breaker bar manually and watch to see if the valves are all opening and closing.

Yeah either your timing in the ignition form is wrong, or your timing chain in the mechanical sense may be gone.
