I have a used 1998 Honda Civic EX and have had minor lock problems with the car since 2003. Now it has gotten progressively worse. The car had an off brand radio/CD player installed and we had it taken out and the original radio put back in so I could use the keyless entry. In June they replaced the regulator in the drivers door. The locks still unlock themselves usually on both sides but not always. There is a constant clicking sound coming from inside the door panels. Ocassionally the horn goes off during this problem. We tried to reprogram the remote but it doesn't seem to have fixed the problem. Has anyone had the same problem or does anyone have ideas? My Honda dealer is stumped.

if this car is a 4 door you could have a bad actuator in the rear which send a signal to the multiplex that a front actuator is bad .and it,s causing a battery drain which the alarm will see as a violation and sound the horn and lights's to blink if not 4 door the same could be in the 2 door case from passenger door .I had this similar problem on a 2005 pilot

Thank you for the information. I should have posted a few months back that my problem was fixed after being baffled for a year. I bought the car used and it had an after market radio installed. We told them to take it out and put in the original radio since the keyless entry (as stated by the salesman) would not work if I left the after market radio installed. After many trips to the dealer and finally a week in the garage they decided to pull out the radio only to find out that only the face plate on the radio had been changed!!!!!!!:shakehead They found the original radio behind the after market radio all wrapped up in cardboard and ducktaped. So two new actuators later and 2 bottles of Advil the problem was fixed. I have had no problems since.:grinyes:
