painting plastic simple question guys/chicks

sup im new to this place it seems to be the best one ive seen yet i must say.

ok i bought a ride to trick out a 99 honda civic.
after i bought i noticed all these little things that looked well like shit.
black trim black side mirros black antena casing. blah buncha off collor crap. on a silver car :( . im trying to keep this part cheap so im painting my self i know how to paint but when it comes to plastics my paint jobs allways chip off easy.


is primer a bad idea for plastics?????????
if its usable please let me know what to do to keep it chip free !!
