Fuel Gauge and Window

I have a 2003 Ranger, and recently my fuel gauge reads high. It goes past full, and I've burned a half tank without it coming down. Where can I look for the problem.
Also, the right window goes down, but not up when using the right side switch. The switch checks out OK with the Ohmeter, and it works fine with the drivers switch.
Could the two problems be related?

It is more than likely your sending unit in the tank that tells how much fuel is in there. GM had a big problem with it in there second gen s10s. So i would go and do some research on a fuel pump sending unit.
