Removed radio now not starting?

My wife has a 1993 Passat glx/vr6. She took it to her dads yard to store since she had gotten a new car. But before we moved it to the backyard, she wanted me to remove her radio for the new car. So i took the radio out real quick then went to start it to move it to the backyard to store and now it doesn't start. What could be causing this? Something with the alarm/security? I need help getting this started so I can clean it up and sell it. It's really got no other problems besides cosmetic issues. Only 75k miles on it too.

(forgot to mention i tried putting the radio back in and starting but of course that didnt work)
