Cobalt SS S/C it is

well went down to the dealer and leased a black 2006 Cobalt SS Supercharged today. I took it for a test drive and i really liked the feel of the car. Nice ride good power, clutch was a little stiff but im sure it just needs to get broken in a bit.
I didnt buy it because GM is lieing about the 0% financing for 72 months, thats only on a select few vehicles that really arent selling. Like Avalanche and a few other pickups and Aveos.
I got a 39month 12,000 mile lease.
I talked to the people there, i can mod the lease, just as long as before i turn the car in, i take off all the mods. So once i save up about 1 grand, Stage 2 upgrade is coming, that will put me at around 247HP and similar TQ numbers.
Only thing i dont like is that stupid wing, fuck that thing sucks, but i guess ill get used to it. If i like the car enough after a year, ill just remove the wing for something smaller and just out right buy the car at the end of the lease.
Pics to come later tonight.

All three of the big 3 are doing that. If you listen to the end of all the commercials, they are like, special financing and incentives and employee don't apply to certain vehicles, like, in Chevy's case, the 'Vette and SS/SC.
Nice car though, I like them in black. Nifty little cars, I wouldn't mind one if it wasn't wrong wheel drive.

yeah they get away with it because they say "0% financing on all 2006 models for up to 72 months" all GM cars right now can get 36 month 0% financing, but only a select few that arent really selling can get it for more than 36 months.
The wrong wheel drive wont be so bad on my car, equal length drive shafts and a Limited Slip Differential will help out alot.

i know black is so hard to keep clean, but damn it looks so sexy.
It is a lease, but it wont be stock for long, i talked to the dealership they said i could mod it, as long as i removed the mods before i turned it in. All i was really planning on was stage 2 upgrade
247HP 7,000 RPM redline mmmm 750 bucks, need to start saving.

Shutup with that BS. The car only replaced the Cavalier, other than sharing the ecotec (last 2 years or so in the Cavy) there is nothing the same about the cars.
Nice choice Jayson, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Jayson's car is roughly 500-600lbs. lighter then your car sportsb4life7. Not to mention that it is well known that the Cobalt SS is underrated. They've dynoed them to 217whp on more then one occassion. They did this to keep up with the SRT-4. Though I really think that Jayson should've waited for the turbo model that is rumored to come out.
All in all he should enjoy the car though, as it has more grunt then his former car. Now he needs to learn how to drive it, as a manual car is much harder to launch then an automatic one.

ill have to admit im very happy with this car. before i bought it i thought of it as another cavalier, but it really is a huge step forward.
I didnt want to wait for the turbo version, the 2007's are out, and they still have a supercharger.
Yeah driving and launching it is gonna take some getting used to, but ill keep working at it.
Sorry no pics yet, its been nothing but rain here in michigan.

Oh yeah, if you're running the a/c and stall it from a light, don't worry, that's normal.
a/c compressor + blower + slightly slow drive-by-wire throttle = a bitch to get used to.
Also, take it easy on that clutch for 500 miles or so. You can zip through the gears no problem while you're already moving, but don't launch it at all for a while.

2000LS1: Cavaliers only weigh 2,600-2,700lbs. I thought it was closer to 2,900's.
And yes, Jayson should have no problem with a ATX n/a 3/S. SB4L: You just need to get that TT swap. Then you should have no problem with the Cobalt or Cavy S/c. In fact a good driver in a VR4 could still have some trouble keeping pace after about 60 mph. AWD drivetrain loss plus 400 lbs kills once your off the line.

No, that won't happen. Although, GM could blow every other sport compact out of the market by switching the SS cars to rwd and charging another 1.5k on the price tag. I'd gladly pay the extra cash for that.

GM is way to dumb to make a turbo charged rear wheel drive cobalt, there are rumors about a turbo charged one, but i doubt we will see it anytime soon, the cobalts are selling well and the Stage upgrades are selling even better. Every dealership has the stage upgradeson back order.
Well ive launched it a few times so far, just to feel the gears and the power, and i must say i am really impressed. Its such a nice smooth reving engine.

It feels like a well sorted sports car that costs more than 22k...untill you take it around a corner and punch the gas, causing massive understeer and wheelspin, then you realize you are infact driving an econobox.
Fuck you GM, fuck you in your stupid ass for not making this car rwd.
