On this 2000 Jeep cherokee sport I bought' on the hood curl over both sides of
Jeep decal' the area has several small paint chips. Like where bugs hit.
Is there a easy way to cover these other than touch up paint?:)

Depends on how deep the nicks are. If they penetrate through the color, only touch-up paint will cover them up. Unless you opt for a few bandaids.

undercoating primer is showing, also no rust.
Wasn,t there at one time a paste you could apply about 6 to 8 years back
that would fill in these speck marks. All you had to do was match the color to your vehicle. Can,t think of the name of it. I remember useing it on a old Chev. Celebrity wagon I used to own. Worked for awhile but eventually washing car cycles removed color so you had to reapply it.

I've seen the "crayons" that match your paint and hide scratches. Depends on how clean a finish you want.
One guy I know put "bullet hole" decals on some of his dings.

:grinyes: If I put bullet hole stickers to cover all my hood paint nicks'

I went to the paint shop (auto paints specialist) where the body shop guys go.
They have that paste or whatever in various colors, but I rather use touch up paint. They can mix any color you want for touch up. Just make sure to clean the area so that silcones don't cause fisheyes.
If you are talking about the front, I use a bug deflector shield up there.

You won,t believe what I did to cover nicks. I found the type of car paint
in the small spray can I needed' taped over the jeep emblem on hood and
Gently mist sprayed over the whole roll over of hood on both side of Jeep emblem. Turned out just great , no runs, no nicks now and paint finish
has good shine.
In reality' nicks looked a heck of alot worse that what hood does now.:p
