Polishing/Cleaning scratched speedometer lens

Just bought a nice 97 Z71 Ext Cab, but someone messed up the speedometer/instrument cluster lens by either cleaning it with something abrasive, or used too strong of a cleaner, its all fogged up and looks bad. Nothing I've tried seems to make a difference.

Anybody got a method to renew this lens, and if not, can you buy just the lens?

Thanks

I bought a new "lens" on my 92 not long ago..... Some Jack@&& had left his keys up there for years (previous owner) and it was really bad. On the 92 its real easy to replace.

You could do a new lense, or just take it out, gt some very abrasive window cleaner and go after it. You might wanna use a straight edge to get as much off before smearing.

I have never tried it but there is a cleaner/polisher that many use on motorcycle windshields that may work. Should be available at a motorcycle shop.

I have used Maguire's PlastiX to clear a badly fogged plastic window on my convertable. I have also used it on Tahoe speedometer cover.

There is also a two step plastic cleaner combo either from Maguire's or 3M. I found the 3M at Napa Auto parts. As I recall it was two separate items so twice as expensive as the PlastiX.

Was drooling over some nice bikes at my Honda dealership, and bought some Novus #2 plastic polish for 5.99, tried it on my speedometer lens and it looks brand new!

Thanks for all the suggestions!
