Might be getting a 99 Aurora today

I am going to be test driving for a few days. Im looking for some input as to common problems with these cars.
Ive heard of the heating issue. 220-230 degrees seems to be the consensus.
Ive heard the head gaskets leak coolant into the cylinders on lots of these. Can you check for this (maybe look at the plugs?)
What else should I be looking for to see if this car is a keeper? What are the common problems?
It has A LOT of miles (165,000) so Im on the edge as to whether I should get it or not. It is $2500.
