no i didnt check the timing yet.do you know were it is suposed to be set at?I know on some cars it is marked by the radiator. One thing I didnt mention is when the car started this I did take it to the shop to have it fixed along with a new water pump.Wwen I got it back from the shop it did seem to run beter, but still had a slite miss to it.All they replaced was the coil pack cover.they told me that it was burnt up inside.I also replaced the same part with the same problem.THANKS FOR THE INFO.I'm going to see if I can locate a timing light tomarrow.

I was looking at the car today and conot figure out how you check the timing when this car has no plug wires. Also when I had it running(not driving)
it will run fine if I hold the gas pedal any were over 1500 rpms, but as soon as I let off the gas and then tromp it down it sputters then stops after 1500 rpms.

I went to this site http://www.quad4forums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=49 and had a look around and it sounds like you may have gotten a bad coil pack housing. Also they suggest checking the fuel pressure regulator to see if it is leaking.

But have you checked for vacum leaks on the manifold?
