On another forum a guy made a trailer (got to give props for inspiring me of course) and was building a trailer from scratch. I was pretty impressed and decided to make my own interpretation of it.
After an afternoon of cutting and planning and a bit of glueing, i got to the following stage...:smokin:
the white is styrene,
the red is a part from a straw and the black parts from the box.
BTW, fujimi rims ( I was going to keep them for my caterham, but I ve got way better ones :naughty:
these pics were crappy and taken with a phone...:uhoh:

then after a coat of paint on... it looks like this...:licka:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v215/bigfrit/aloo006.jpg
if you look at the back, the system for the attachment of the ramps...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v215/bigfrit/aloo008.jpg
with the raising and lowering from the front wheel, it's possible to tilt the trailer, just like a real one...
That's it for now, mostly...
I ll keep in touch, gotta go start building the hauler now! :grinyes:
might look good...
TATAH!

Lovely execution oli.
Just one idea for you. Put a brace across the 'A' arm and mount a spare wheel on it.

Cool project Oli!
It'll look terrific with a Caterham on it, ready for a day at the track.
Did you use pics & dimensions for a real trailer, or figured it out as you went along?

Thanks all for your nice comments!
To answer some of your questions...
@technoman
the thing that's going to pull it, is very probably a G55 AMG that I m working on.
@ales
meh.
@sportracer
thanks man, i hold your opinion in high regard!
@malscar
yeah, but I have only got four of these nice rims, so I guess it' ll have to stay like this, except some thingies here and there, like a towing hook... and reflectors, lights, cables...
@mpwr
Yup, i checked the dimensions on some real life manufacturers and figured I d take the lancer evo to be the benchmark for this. I wanted it to be realistic for some kind of weekend racer (7 :grinyes: ) to be on.
and finally Klutz...
i know bout the jaggy that's taking forever, it's my eleanor, everytime I try something i kinda fuck it up more or less... repainted, cleared and polished tho .
But I got this trailer project going now!
Thanks all for your nice comments. and the progress might be quite slow to the fat-melting temperatures, my excuses for that.

Wow, that's a great way to display models. Never thought of that. BTW really tidy work. Looks great.
