idle at 3000 rmp wont drop

I replaced a steering line. had to remove Alt. and disconnect batt. Get everything back together and now the car is idling at 3000 rpm's and wont drop. Can any one give some suggestions ?

did you disconnect the p/s pressure switch? did you forget to plug it back in? that would cause a high idle.
