If I had a stock LT1 because i've been lookin at commercials for new cars such as camrys and altimas and they said the new camry has 268 horses! new altima 260-270ish horses too. That would suck if you go up to your bud trying to show off your car and be like "hey man check out my new maro with 275 hp" and they look at you like "pfft...my CAMRY has 268 big deal" All these new ass cars with their somewhat high ass hp... pisses me off.
Jus felt like posting cuz i havent had a good internet connection in forever.

If its any consolation, you'd still have MUCH more torque, and the LT1 was making that kinda power like 13 years ago... the current high preformance small block has 400 hp, its all relative.
And I agree with Mr. Luos, there is no way that these cars can come anywhere close to a sub-14 sec ET.

I agree, a V8 and rearwheel drive, you have more torque than a V6 FWD!!! It's like my friend had his 99 Grand Prix 3.8 and he thought he would take me in my 92 5.0. Stock the 5.0 had 225hp/300tq, and with the bolt-ons that I had it was around 275hp/330tq. The Grand Prix 3.8 had 200/200. So we...(cough, clear throat) I raced and KICKED HIS ASS!!!!!! Of the line he hooked pretty good with FWD and I was on 255/50/16 street tires so, I had to walk it out alittle then get on it hard. Let's just say with me "walking it out" he didn't even get a full car length on me. If I had my slicks on, it would've been no challenge off the line. I ended up beating him by about 10 cars.
Don't get me wrong, sure that'd be great to have 260hp family car, it's just that they lack torque. SOMETIMES.
I bet some of them can break into the 14's but, maybe not into the 13's without mods.

Torque plays a big role in racing. Not to mention you have to think of potential. Those cars are made to squeeze as much power out of them as possible but which GM was clearly not trying to do as can be seen by there restrictive air intakes and exhausts. Also a LT1 F-body is actually making closer to 290 not 275 (not that, thats a huge difference but). There have been plenty of LT1 F-bodys completely stock getting into the 13's. Most of your front wheel drive 300 area family sedans and coupe's need some work to get to that area of performance.
