once again, im asking about this swap. I found a d16z6 with about 100k miles on it. i took the head off and the cylinders still have cross hatching. all the valves look good except for slightly dirty. Has anybody on here done this swap?? if so, got any pictures?

Ami has done the SOHC VTEC swap. She used a d16y8 though. Still the same swap though. Heres her link.

Heres the site she used for the swap, which says at the top of the page,

D16Z6/D16Y8 engine swap to 88-91 4G/2G civic/crx

Ok thanks..

one more question...

I realize that since i have a DX i'll have to change over the wires for the multi port injection. Is it possible for me to just get the whole wiring harness out of a 4th gen that already has mpfi and just add the wires for the sensors and such?

It would be better for you to get a 4th gen mpfi harness like you said, If not maybe you can use the 5th gen harness, but I doubt it.

if i remember correctly, the MPFI harness doe not have the correct connector on the end that plugs in the dash harness of a DX. I think it would be eaiser to modify you DX harness then try to modify a MPFI harness to connect to oyur DX dash harness.

i tired to reply earlier but the sever was busy :( oh well.....

here are some links:

as for the MPFI, i haven't done it yet ("hoopty whoop" still needs it for the full potiential of the a6). i have been told by dropshop he justs converts the DX harness. note: i don't suggest hacking your stock one. get a spare. i've heard horror stories of people messing the harness and then been without a car until another is found  doh!

if you have any questions you think of after checking out some of those link, feel free to ask! you can e-mail me at [email protected] if you would like :)
