CD Player shorted a fuse in link?

:banghead: I recently installed a cd player in my car, and as i have been told, i may have blown a fuse in link, but not an actual fuse. The dash lights are not working, and no, its not the dimmer switch. I was wondering if anyone has had these problems, and how you fixed it.

I think i need to run a new wire from the column switch to the dimmer switch, and from the dimmer switch to the fuse power box.

Basically im really confused here...

PLEASE HELP!
