Diagnostic codes?

Hey guys....is there a self check engine code ability on the ford pickups. I know when working on my Neon I have the ability to check codes due to the flashes and check numbers. Reason is my b/f Ford p/u has the check engine light on and I can't seem to see why. I gave it a full tune up and everything looks to be in order. A little bit of squelling trouble with 1 belt, but no wear so i just greased it and it was good. I called the dealership and they said it doesn't have any programed sceduled light on for tune ups. I just hate to pay somebody to do a diagnostic when i could pull the codes myself :) Thanks guys in advance. Neons I know....Fords however are a new experience for me....lol.

If it is a 95 or older, you can access the trouble codes like this (http://www.troublecodes.net/Ford/) If it is 96 or newer, you need a scan tool to read the codes.
