Well guys, don't guess I'll be posting here anymore. I finally gave in to the powers that be and,(Sob) sold my Z71. A sixty mile round trip to work was killing me. Anyway, it's been fun.

Mines for sale too. Doesn't mean you can't post. You can always help people out with your experience.

True, I really loved my truck but something had to give. Unfortunately it was me that gave. Gas prices being what they are just took the fun out of driving it.

When I'm down at college the truck gets parked during the week and I hop on the bike, only ever start up the truck to run to the grocery store =). Must suck to have such a long commute :(.

Okay, brace your self. I am the (proud?) owner of a 2007............Isuzu I-290! Okay stop laughing now. No really, it's cousins with the Colorado. Extended cab, inline four banger, auto trans. It's got potential. Hopefully it will be dependable. Oh btw, 7yr. 75000 mile powertrain. Thats why I did'nt buy the Colorado.

Funny how gas prices make us do weird things. Mine isn't for sale, can't live without it. Mind you I carpool and drive the wife's Subaru to help ease up on the pocket book pinch....
Enjoy your new vehicle. 7 Year warranty that's amazing.

Hey that's not a bad truck. Sucks you have to lose the Silverado, but you gotta do what you gotta do. If my commute was any longer I'd be in the same boat. I went to Isuzu's website out of curiosity, because I've never seen one of those driving around. I'd say it's even closer than cousin to the Colorado. Looks enough like one that I half believe I may have seen one on the road and just not noticed it wasn't a Colorado.

Anyway, good luck to you. As he said, you can always post anyway! :) I occasionally find myself cruising some of the forums for vehicles I've owned in the past. Never know when you can be of help to someone.

From Cars.com:

Snapshot
EPA Fuel Economy:
City: 17 – 19 Highway: 24 – 25
Available Engines:
185-hp, 2.9-liter I-4

Available Transmissions: 4-speed automatic w/OD
5-speed manual w/OD

Whoa, it seems you only gained 4-5mpg, unless you were getting 13/17 city/hwy mpg in your silverado. I thought an inline 4 cyliner would do better than that on MPG:screwy:

Is it flexfuel compatible?

13/17 sounds about right for guys I know who commute at peak hours. A lot of 4-bangers get a little better than that, but they are also not as big as 2.9 liter engines. Plus, if you were still paying on the Silvy, the monthly payment is probably less on the Isuzu too. Time will tell - may end up being not worth it, but I'm sure you thought long and hard about it, so it probably is the right thing for you.

Greetings Pamzjoe,

Below is a comparison link between the 2007 Chevy Silverado SS rear wheel drive (6 liter with automatic) compared to the Isuzu I 290 with a MANUAL transmission (it didn't allow 2.9 liter 4 cylinder with automatic).

http://www.edmunds.com/apps/nvc/chevrolet/VehicleComparison;jsessionid=GG4Mzhsh2g42F6LMbyMHD mh3crccvnZ4RQDkDdPGGQRpnPQ8LT2Y!-1181498035?basestyleid=100543771&styleid=100763952&maxvehicles=5&refid=&op=3&tab=specs

I'd be very interested to see how your mileage ratings are in real life compared to what the link shows (obviously automatic will make a difference). In my case my 04 rwd SS gets about 17 to 19 in town and 22 to 23 on the highway. Let us know how your mileage ratings work out. Thanks.

Damn shame you had to get rid of your truck, I'm so happy I own mine, but then mine is parked too, I have to carpool with the wife, dropped the insurance last month as well, I have her covered but will never get rid of her.
My wife mentioned selling her last week but after the look she got I don't think she'll ever mention that again.
besides my 8 y/o son has been promised and will get her in 8 years, he wants this truck so bad, so even if I get a little 4 banger beat around truck at some point and store this one it wont be sold, a promise is a promise.
