Hey.. I just bought 2 Cavs that I'm working on to put them together so one of them runs, but I need new airbags- They're both 2004s, but do I have to get 2004 airbags, or will other years fit?? Does anyone have any recommendations about cheap places to find them ?

Thanks !

i dunno if they are interchangeable on the passanger side but id assume the steering wheel side would be otherwise you could just buy the entire steeringwheel with the airbag and put it in...

speaking of which wanna buy my steering wheel with airbag?

for shits and giggles i ran an ebay search on them and yo can buy the bags not bad there, $150 for a set (pass/driv) but this only gets you the airbags, the wheels and covers might be more of a pita to find. thats why god invented pull ur own parts junkyards tho.

id sell you mine wheel n bag for $100, perfect condition, replaced it with a sparco steeringwheel.

What did you search under ?? I looked under the auto//safety part and came up with like 3 results and only one of which was anything good...And about your wheel && bag, I'll get back to you =]

i dont go under categorys, there is to many retards that dont know how to list items properly.

I once found a set of goodyear tires under home furnishings. on the main page, top right side is a general search box, type in "Cavalier airbag" or something of the like...

Okay, now limit that to 2003-2005 airbags and let me know how many you find.. Because I'm not finding too much !! I checked out your myspace.. I love your seat covers - Blues my favorite color =] but my car is like.. burnt orange, so it's not gunna match. Okay, so I have another question. If the box controls both airbags -- How can you buy them seperately ?? Today we tore the engines out of both cav's [we're switching them] and then we had a guy stop in && let us know about straightening the frame out && he said to make sure we get the box w/ the airbags -- So now I'm confused. Help ?!?! I'm sooo new to this.. haha

aye like i said i dont know if they are interchangeable, replacing the entire steering wheel knocks that issue out on the drivers side but from the looks of it to get a 03-05 specific dash bag its gunna run you around 200. id check local pull ur part lots and see if they have any and how much. i can sell you mine for less than $100 i forgot i had to cut the yellow feed line on the "o-ring" (someone will correct me i forget what its called) that the airbag connects to. i still have the plastic ring so im sure you could just use a butt splice and tape it.

as far as the box goes im not 100% certain but he might be referring to the sensor up front that releases the bags? the bags themselves simply plug into the vehicle.

were the car airbags deployed from a previous accident? if they were then i think youll have to replace all the compnents of the system including the sensors.

Yeah, the car was in an accident and right now they're both hanging out of the steering wheel and dash lol.. So let me make sure I have this right -- The bags go into the car, and so does the sensor box, but they're seperately uhh.. installed <?> so it doesn't matter if they come together or anything ? Right ?!?! Whoo I don't know a thing about cars...

Yeah, we're going to check around but just haven't gotten the chance yet...

im thinking he is reccomending replacing the other components with the airbags since your airbags were deployed, not just becouse its a new airbag.

nice myspace btw

Grrr it never told me I had new email so sorry about that. Thanks about the myspace - you could have added me :P I'm not quite sure what the deal is with the airbags right now -- I was home for a week to work on my car but I'm at my brothers house again so my dad is taking care of that at the moment as far as finding local prices and checking around.. Actually I got online to get some car insurance quotes.. I'll ttyl =]
