2001 Jetta Suspension Problem

I recently installed new coil overs in my 01 jetta. The whole installation went fine as far as i knew until i lowered the front of the car and where the strut tower fits in to the body of the car is coming up through the holes in the engine compartment. The beam that sits inside of the strut is what is coming up. If anyone can tell me possibly what is causing this I would greatly appreciate it.

theres your problem, you prob used ebay cheapo coilovers where the spring is 1/2 the length and size of a oem spring and there is no upper perch to hold the coilover in and therefor causes the shock to stick up out of the tower
