heat from turbo

my turbo heats up the engine bay severely and i was wondering if anyone else has this problem and what they did about it. and also would a tubular exhaust manifold keep things "cooler" compared to those cast iron dsm ones?

the heat is pretty much something you have to deal with. try some "water wetter" available on roadraceengineering, as well as an adequate intercooler for the setup, but otherwise, turbos will always heat things up.

what is your setup? stock 1g on a GS ??

a better radiator

also staying out of the boost will help, i kno, it is tempting

or you can also heat wrap the headers and anything else that puts off heat.

i got a 14b with the stock manifold on a rs. and as of right now only running 5psi cuz i dont have money for the tuning to go higher.

o and another thing, my fan will not shut off. like as soon as i turn my car on it starts blowing, and stays until like 10 seconds after i shut my car off.

oh yeah, oil cooler

definitely get a intercooler though, and it shouldn't do that AS much, but it won't "cure" your problem. your best bet is to try everything possible and that may cure it.

I've heard that the Evo style hoods help vent the engine bay (may or may not be true). I would assume it is true because it has vents in it to help more air into the bay. Could help out, and also would look pretty good.

yea i have both intercooler and an oil cooler (cut those plastic things out from under ther corner light for the oil cooler). and i was tryin to find if i could buy the vent from an evo hood and just cut a hole and mount it on my hood cuz i dont feel like spend 400+ on a hood.

That would be sick.

with a hood like that the best thing to do is duct the air through the frnt bumper and direct it up through the hood vent.

I have a t3/t4 in my gs, it use to heat up alot also. I setup for my fans to stay on at all times, it really helped keeping my temp down.
