I have a 1988 1500 with a 350 and it will idle real rough when I start it up after it has been seating over night or for a couple of 5-6 hours. Once it warms up it runs real good. Any sugestions?:banghead:

Too much fuel in the carb , possible partical flooding untill choke opens up.

Check the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve... Its located in the Throttle Body on the left side. It has a 4 pin electrical connection that will need to be unplugged and then the valve itself can be unscrewed from the TBI. Remove the air cleaner housing for best access. Check the valve for carbon build up and clean if necessary. More importantly, make sure the valve is measured correctly. The distance from the valve base to the tip of the valve pintal should be 1 1/8 inch... no more. If you prefer, you can by a new valve at any local automotive store... they run about $25. Make sure you measure the new one too... they could possibly be incorrect out of the box. There is an o-ring gasket that comes with the new valve... be sure to use it during installation... make sure to remove the old o-ring gasket. Hope this helps.
