AF Super Seven Group Build!

With only Seven to go, weeks that is, I've started a WIP over in motorsports.
I'm going for a SCCA racer.

I know i'm waay too late on getting into this build, but I found my inspiration to build one of these now...I saw these and just thought damn what a bad ass car..

Guys: deadline is this week>> any chance to officially slip the date? I know isn't a contest but we eed to be "a bit" serious (somethime) ;)

anyway: I'm in the crap with it: I need a month more or so, I was busy lately doing babysitting more than expected: can't wait to see monday morning and start to work lately LOL

Any chances? I guess I'm not the only 1 since I didn't see a lot of done S7 (Mark's one apart that is off-rules LOL)

A deadline extension would indeed be good! :) Managed to spray paint the body on mine but there's no way I'll finish the rest in time as I don't have any spare time this week :(

An excellent idea! Perfect- why didn't we think of this before?? The 21/03 deadline was arbitrary from the beginning.

OK, it's official- the dealine for the Super 7 Group Build has slipped to 07/07/07.

2007 is actually a great year to celebrate the 7- it is in fact the 50th anniversary of Colin Chapman's creation of the design. 070707 seems a terrific time to celebrate it.

Guys...this may be a bit cheeky, but I need the Lotus 7 motor for a scratch build. Do any of you still have the original engine, trans, wheels and hubcaps they might like to sell or donate? I'm in Australia, happy to cover postage.

Yeah, it's looking highly likely that I will miss the deadline- but I'm trying to decide that there's no shame in it. While I won't absolutely discount a late rally of productivity, I've been having trouble building to a deadline.

But I'm not going to be alone, and I've certainly enjoyed being a part of the group build.

Unless we get a significant outcry for one, I am not considering another extension of the finish date. I'm envisioning a 'meet' thread in the meet directory. Everyone who has completed their builds can post a couple finished pics of their builds, and a link to their build thread. Those of us slackers who have failed to meet the finish (and couldn't build one little kit in the space of a year! :uhoh: :rolleyes:) can post the best pic they have of their underway build, and then contribute their finished pics as they get there.

It seems it's getting time to decide how to ochestrate the next group build....

Damn, coming really close now, that bloody deadline. At this pace I ll finish three days after...

eitherway just gonna have fun finishing, so eitherway, the group build for me is a big succes! Good job, andy (wild guess? I m not good with names)
