Is it alright?

Is it alright to have thinned paint from an airbrush bottle be poured back into the Tamiya acrylic jars? I'm asking this because I waste a lot of the paint when I'm done painting and have quite an amount of extra paint left.

I do that all the time. As long as you know that the paint in the jar gets thinner and thinner every time you do it, I don't think there's any problem. Just don't over do it (in terms of frequency and amount of thinned paint) if you use the same paint for hand brushing.

I would keep it in a another bottle and put an label on it.

If you think about it, you will NEVER get the paint in the jar thinner than you want for ABing anyway. You will just need to add less to your AB cup each time.

IMHO Paint is a "living" thing :lol: i.e. it's evaporating all the time so it is never in fact stable or cinsistent in the jar.

lol yea, the paint is always changing. It goes from a big clump of paint, to nicely mixed, then back to a big clump.:rofl:
