2004 Dodge Stratus Idle Issues

Bought a used 04 and have had it for less then 60 days and noticed that while idling and the AC is on the rpms go lower then the car kinda jumps and rpms go back up. Also while in reverse with the AC on car will sometimes give a hard jerk and then die. Have to turn the AC off to restart the car. Now when the AC is off these things never happen. This is duel cam and a friend of mine says it could be a timing issue. Anyone have this happen or heard of this? :banghead:

I have the same problem with a 97 plymouth breeze with the 2.0 engine.
At this point I suspect the pcv system or the fuel pressure but I can't be sure. I spent so much money lately in replacing the transmission and a boken timing belt with a valve job that I need to take a break from the mecanics.

Another symptom that I have is that sometime when the idle gets rough like you describe, it is hard to push on the breaks. That's why I thought it could be a vacuum problem, but it is just a guess.

I am experiencing the similar symptoms on my 2001 Stratus (2.7 V-6 DualOHC). Mine only does it when warm. The first 5 to 10 miles it runs fine, then the symptoms you describe start again. Anyone have any Ideas?

I am having a somewhat similar problem. It jumps and does all kinds of crazy stuff while I'm sitting still and driving. I had my mechanic look at it and he found out my O2 Sensor was going bad.
