:banghead:I have a V6 Grand Cherokee, automatic trans, 1998. Recently, I have noticed water on the passenger side floor. There is no odor to the water. It is more noticable in the AM's, after the car sits outside overnight. It seems to be coming from the area near the fuse Panel on the passenger side front.:screwy:
It's driving me crazy. If it is a plugged AC line, where do I find that and what does it look like. I can't find any other place it may be coming into my car. HELP!!!! And thank you!!!!

Hi Cathy, and Welcome to AF.

It sounds like the AC draintube is clogged on that side. Its purpose is to drain the condensation from the AC running out the bottom of the vehicle. When it backs up you get water in the passenger side, just as you described.

I don't know the exact location on your Jeep, but take a look up under the vehicle, passenger side, near the firewall. You should see a small tube coming out from underneath. If you run a slim wire up into it, you should be able to clear the clog, if that's the problem.

How come the "Grand" Cherokee people got on here? It is not the same SUV.

My "cherokee" leak was from the windshield, My AC drain goes outside and leaves a puddle there if it is draining right.
Anyway, the water comes from sitting outside overnight, because when parked on the street it slopes to the right. The moisture then drains down the windshield to the leaking seal at the lower right (passenger side) of the windscreen.
Took me a long time to figure that one out, had to used compressed air to verifiy the wicking that was doing it.

I found the hose in the wheel well on the passenger side. It belongs to the overflow for the coolant (radiator). I do own a '98 Grand Cherokee, so if I can get any help on fnding the a/c drain hose--it would be greatly appreciated.

I still think you have a windshield leak. You said you find water there in the AM before AC has been used. My windshield leak came down by the right hand fuse box also. Especially in the winter. Run a hose on the windshield, remove the cover for the fuse box, remove the glove box and have a look while the hose is going. You might have to get someone to help you.

The AC drain hose goes through the floor fowand into the engine compartment and into the frame. Then when you use the AC water will drip from this drain hose to the center of the vehicle.

There's no way to get to the drain tube from under the Jeep. To clear the drain pull down the carpet on the passenger floorboard and drill a 1/4 inch hole in the middle of the evaporator drain housing. Here is the link to the TSB: http://home.sc.rr.com/janet/TSB/24-06-96.htm
