Harmonic Balancer

I was wondering if a bad harmonic balancer would cause a squealing sound.

Unless the key is missing from the crank snout, I would doubt it. Even with no key, I would doubt it, since it would have to be slipping so badly it would knock more than squeal. Checked your accessory belt and accessories?
