Hi,
I have a Honda Accord LX 1995. Since a few day ago, when I drive it at low speed (< 15mph) or stop at the red trafic light, the engine goes off many times, especially when A/C is on. If I drive it at more than 20mph and don't break, then it is okay so far. Can somebody give me some help?
Thanks!
Harvey

Welcome to the board!
What about the regular maintenance? Spark plugs, distriburor cap, wires? Has it been done?

You said this happens when below 15mph, but is that under acceleration, decel, or both? You may just need to adjust your idle screw, but it could be a number of things. Fuel filter, fuel pump, etc. No other malfunctions happening that might be in conjunction with the idle/fuel?

I did regular maintenance at dealer. The most recent one was done on June 24, 2006 -- 96000 miles (I don't remember exactly), and was told that every thing was good.
It happens both when I acce and decce, also when I move backwards, when I stop at the red light. The car "shakes" (vibrates) more strongly at those times, then sometimes stops. But, no other signal, e.g. the "Engine" light on the panel is not on at any time.
Thanks!

How about vacuum leak?
Check all your vacuum hoses.

Inspect them visually and physically: no cracked or broken parts. If that fails, spray some carburetor cleaner, WD-40 or other flamabel fluid. If the RPM increase: you found the problem.
Be very carefull: the hot engine may catch fire!!!
I have heard people sprayed just regular water, but never done it myself.
Good luck!

there is a in tank fuel filter. another way to check for vaccum leaks without a fire(lol), is to use soapy water. then look for the bubbles and then just rinse, fix the hose.

How do you figure something that is a Vaccum is going to cause bubbles? Its sucking it in...
