Just bought a used 2000 elantra. The right front wheel is squeaking when moving. Upon pressing brake pedal, squeak stops. Starts again as soon as I let off the brake. Thought of brake wear indicators, but don't they squeak when the brake is applied instead of the other way around? Thanks!

Possibly the wheel bearing?...although that's more of a hissing.

When my brake pads started to wear out it did exactly the same thing. The squeak would be there until I pressed on the brake pedal. I would have the front pads checked.

I replaced the front pads today. The ones that were squeaking were about down to NOTHING! Thanks for the replies.
