well i was wondering do you think i will pass emissions with header w/o the air tubes BUT the smog pump still hooked up and the one air tube still in the cat? And also can you pass emissions witha lt1 cam in a 305 tbi?

ha ha, I was going to ask this in your other thread, "do you have to take emissions". Your on the IL side of the river right? There is word that after 7-1-07 cars under '96 will be exempted frm IEPA testing. :)

earlier than 96 will cover a heck of a lot of cars to be exempt.

Our emissions testing gets everything back to 1974 models

Well, they want do do away with IM240 testing becasue of the upkeep costs. Plus it's only in the majorly populated areas of the state that have to test anyways like the Chicago and St. Louis metro areas.

Yeah, in MO, there are only 3 major areas with emissions testing. But next Sept. the new law will take effect like you said. This was my last year for emissions! I'm excited, because now I can get my LT headers and offroad Y with NO cat! Ahh, the little things make me happy. But a 2 year renewal will cost me around $100!

There are emission legal headers that use all the EGR and air pump equipment and since it passes the cat and mufflers. I don't think there will be a instant fall despite the quicker expelling of vapors but if your car already had a issue with passing it most likely would make it worse.

it will pass fine as it is, run real clean, but i was wondering if it would with this. I am on the IL side of the Mississippi, in Columbia IL it is like 5 min from the JB Bridge. We now have emissions here in my town and you say they are going to do away with the pre96 cars? if so that is SWEET!! now they test all the way to like 79!

well after you buy a car, how long does it take them to send you a notice to get tested? Because i might be able to do all my big mods and not have to get tested at all cuz when i bought my car!

here in MD testing is every 2 years. if you or the previous owner got it smoged, and it passed, then it will not need to be done until 2 years is up (or what ever ur time intervals are). i know when i got my camaro i did not have to get it smoged (previous owner did it a year prior and passed with flying colors, even with true duals).

sweet, so i think it will not have to be tested then, because i got it like 6 months ago so next year they will stop it. Cool, then there goes the smog pump, and all the air lines and maybe the cat. Is it forshure that they are going to quit doing it?

Well, the kicker is if it had a scheduled test for 2007, it supposed to still go and complete the program.

i still think i am good, because i don't think mine is soposed to be untill like 08. So is it forshure that they will stop it for cars 95 and under?
