there was no superb suspension back in the 70's you cant comapre suspension 30 years ago to suspensions now a days. superb back than is shit now.
Actually they raced on tracks like this,
http://www.historictransam.com/images/WC031805.jpg

So they really needed great suspesion by today's standards, even.

yea they where great if you could get and keep them tuned but hey good luck finding someone who could do that.

Yea, they're hard to keep up because they're not meant for posers:evillol:
The HEMI is a serious race engine, that should not be in the wrong hands, unlike a Hyudai 2.7 litre engine. It's acheived such a mythical status because it really is that crazily powerful. I was once lucky enough to see a HEMI Challenger blow the doors off a 650 hp Porsche. Enough said.

If you want to see the video, i'd be glad to show you.:evillol:

Just so its out there... Im a hemi fanatic as well. I was originally gonna get a Magnum SRT-8 so i could have the best of both worlds: Fun on the roads, and Functional for work.

However, It was coincidental that I saw an advertisement from the mail for my mom (who owned an accent at the time), and I was floored by the Tiburon....

Went to the dealer, and I test-drove it. It wasnt a TON of power, but I was pleasently surprised by it. What I liked about the tib was the really Masculine lines... One of my more outrageous ideas was to drop a 290 HEMI in it and convert it to RWD. Im sure it'd fit (according to my measurements), but Id prolly need to reinforce the frame.

hell yea man put up the link to the video

hell yea you would need to reinforce the frame and suspension you would twist the shit out of the frame if you put it in there

lol, i just think it would be so kickass to see a bright yellow tiburon with Mopar-esque paint... Cept its Carbon Fiber instead of the traditional Matte Black... And have a huge carb jutting out of the hood... ^_^

Huh? Where did that come from? I'm not jealous you guys have ugly, slow imports that need heavy modding to even get in the stratosphere of a Challenger.

Let's see who's the moron: You spend $17,000 on an import that's as
fast as a Camry, and I buy a $7,000 American Musclecar with a
V8. What kind of american are you? We'll see who's the moron when I
fly by you with my Challenger, and $10,000 that will buy me a
340 six-pack and more. Do you realize by buying a Hyundai, you're
contributing to Koreans, and shutting down GM, Ford, and Dodge.

Cool it with the name calling people.

As for the comment of...What kind of american are you? We'll see who's the moron when I
fly by you with my Challenger, and $10,000 that will buy me a
340 six-pack and more. Do you realize by buying a Hyundai, you're
contributing to Koreans, and shutting down GM, Ford, and Dodge. With the globalization of products and services now a days, that line of contributing gets blurred each and every time. The same goes for what kind of American are you.
Are you saying that to be a full blooded American one has to buy just American made products. Give me a freaking break. So I take it that you have everything in your possession is American made. Shoes, Clothing, etc etc. Yeah right.
Now you also say "you're contributing to Koreans" You do realize that GM, FORD and any other American based automotive company has plants outside of the US, some in Mexico, in Canada, overseas etc.
So, if you buy a vehicle by GM that is made in Mexico are you not contributing to the Mexican economy as well, since you are paying for the Mexican salary that is putting together your car as well as local parts etc.
If you look at this past post (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=3124927&postcount=3)of mine it outlines (at that time) the plants and their vehicles produced outside the US by American based Automobile companies. Now true Chrysler is now owned by the Daimler group and I haven't updated the list, but you get the picture.

As for the What Kind of American are you, something else to ponder,
if any person born in any country in Europe, are they not considered European?
is any person born in any country in Asia, are they not considered Asians
so why is it that citizens of the USA only consider themselves to be the only ones that can call themselves Amercians. Isn't there a North and South America? Technically any citizen of Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and Canada to name just a few, are also Americans.

TS out (buying an American car, a Hyundai Santa Fe) :grinyes:

Do you realize so called American cars are made from many components that are produced in other countries? Aparently not. Like it or not it's a world economy. You're stuck in the '70s pal. Get your facts straight. If a domestic manufacturer could make a car like a Tib at the right price, I'd buy it. But they can't. They are always playing catch-up. Foreign countries are not responsible for the downfall of the the big 3 American companies. Americans demanded better & more efficient cars. Domestic companies came around, but a dollar short and a day late. By filling up your V8's big gas tank, you are enriching the Arab countries and other anti-American members of OPEC. Did that thought ever occur to you? I doubt it. Your rationale is pathetic, ill conceived and counts for nothing.

$17,000 where did you get that i did not pay 17 k for my car

that are produced in other countries?
Yes, but GM, Ford, and Dodge employ all american workers

You're stuck in the '70s pal.

No, you're stuck in the '90's, because the Ford Fusion
recently outsold the Camry!

$17,000 where did you get that i did not pay 17 k for my car
like i said before get you six pack and since you cant tune good luck finding someone who can and you didnt try hard enough

I guessed, like I said, all I know about Tibs is
that my Challenger could beat one. Six-Packs
are easy enough to keep up that I could do it.
You only think I couldn't because Tuners only
know how to screw on a turbo, but if it breaks,
you go to the shop, admit it. I'm done posting
here because you guys are so friggin' ignorant.
I thought there might be someone here smart
enough to give me a run for my money, but I
guess not.
See you losers later.

Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Hyundai, etc all have plants in the US and employ American workers. And a Ford outsold the Camry. So what. Toyota sells more cars than any other manufacturer (in the world). Once again the ill informed has spoken and made himself yet a bigger fool. I didn't think that was possible. Now I am impressed.

haha you wanted us to give u a run for your money huh? i didnt think youd have any cash left after trying to keep that hunk of junk you call a car running. We could just as easly switch forums and start bashing american made cars, but we've actually got lives.... Soooo before you go around flexing your nuts (not that you have any) just think for a second about who your calling the ignorant ones.. ohh and why spend 17k on a hyundai? lets see 10 years down the line whos car is still running, and if yours is then ill be damned sure youve spent 17k if not more on keeping that slow little bitch whip running, yeah i said slow...... soo go back to whatever thread you came from because your going to end up banned if you dont, so make us all happy and shut the hell up...

Rick, ill try and get thos diagrams on monday for you off the all data server...

Dave, its nice to see you posting in here even if it is under immature circumstances lol, ohh and sry if i broke any site rules with the language but i feel someone needs to learn a lesson, even though its 20 years too late...

suicidehummer

lets see 10 years down the line whos car is still running
Yeah, well mine is original down to the hoses and wiring,
let's see how long your Hyundai's belts, hoses, wires,
etc. do after 33 years.

flexing your nuts (not that you have any)

Ya right, if you had nuts you wouldn't be so afraid
of musclecars and the raw power they posess.

If a domestic manufacturer could make a car like a Tib at the right price, I'd buy it.

I'd like to introduce you to The Chevy Cobalt SS...
Oh, wait you guys can't buy a car that's already fast,
It'd be too much of a musclecar. Well, your loss.

yeah i said slow......

Keep on dreamin', I don't even need a 340 to blow you away...

BigTDawg
10-15-2006, 05:44 PM
his e-mail begins with mitsubishi looks like he is just as un american as the rest of us

but i'm wonder who works in the foreign car company factories in america? do they ship people over from the companies home country?

and you seem to forget that the big 3 have moved plants out of the county and have had layoffs what about those americans who worked there that are now jobless and cant get a job cause all i've they done for the past 30 years is built cars. where is your big 3 now?

Maybe you will to, when you're older.

you call a chevy cobalt SS fast?

All i'm sayin is it's faster than a Tib.

pulled up to a nice chevelle ss to see what he had, thinking he could give ME a run for my money, he couldnt even THINK about keeping up...
Did you see what engine he had? The Challenger comes
with a stock slant six, so i'm sure the chevelle did, too.

We weren't born in trailer parks...
I live in Connecticut, the 2nd richest state.

Hey speeddemongtv6: I'd blow you away right now,
