I want to clear something up

I'm not a tree hugger, and I don't care about cutting down trees. All I want is to have the price of good the good ole 93 octane go down to $2/gallon, but $2.50 would be more realistic. That's the price I was paying when I bought my car in February. Now it's $3.30/gallon.

I realize that there are genuine needs for large vehicles, such as transporting construction equipment or even towing your race car. That wouldn't be anywhere near safe in a 4-cyl Ranger. That's OK. But the problem is that it seems everyone seems to be making excuses to justify their want for large vehicles. I'm sure that if you were to ask someone who is using their Ford Expedition to haul thier ass to work would have some reason like they work on their house and need to go to Home Depot 3 times a year, or their kids come to town twice a year, etc. How about this: rent. For about the price of a tank of gas, you can rent one of those trucks or SUVs for a weekend.

Why do we always have to wait for someone else to do something about our problems?

And for the record, it's worse to drive a Civic 30k miles a year than it is to drive a Durango 5k miles.

I'd like to also apologize if I came across as a dick. Wasn't on purpose.

And you don't think we don't want gas prices to come down? Sheesh, you're not the only one out there homie.

Dude. STFU.

When you are the head of a family of 5, feel free to spend upwards of 200 dollars for one weekend of renting an SUV. Also, feel free to carry said family of 5 in your fucking Civic.

I am not explaining myself to you anymore. You won't get it until you're there.

BTW, any comments on what I said before? About WTF am I doing explaining myself to someone who drives a car that is about as practical as women's shoes?

Talk about a fucking image car. I won't even mention the gay connotations of your car, as I actually like said car, and I'm not about to transfer my annoyance of your stupid comments to the car itself.

 Ok fine... but don't get on our cases about what we drive when you're driving a (for a Honda) very uneconomical four cylinder car. And going out on the weekends to the autocross using up all that gas and wasting your tires.

What's your point? Gas has always been more expensive in Canada because your government taxes you more.

I think he's telling you to quit your bitching.

And if you only drive your car on the weekend, why are you so upset about the gas prices? I mean, you're probably only filling it up once every two weeks right? Or at most, once a weekend.

True. By nature, I'm a cheap bastard. I try to spend as little as possible (on everything but cars). I mean even if gas was $2.00/gal I still wouldn't drive more.

Wanting lower gas prices is fine, but coming on here and ranting on about it while degrading another members new family vehicle is going to get nothing done about it. All you managed to do was piss off a bunch of the regulars and a few of the mods.

If you want a good crowd to bitch at for driving unreasonably large and mostly useless vehicles, you should contact the Mormon church. Every mormon soccer mom drives no less than a Suburban and now they have been switching to the Avalanches, Escalades and Navigators. Very rarely and mostly never does a Mormon soccer mom need the 4x4 option that is equiped on such vehicles. You should try nagging at them, although I must warn you...while you're trying to convert them into the ideal of ditching senseless and wasteful vehicles for more sensible fuel effecient ones, they will be trying to convert you into Mormonism (if you're not already one).

Sorry to any Mormons I may have offended by this post, but I watched South Park once and I'm an expert on this.

BWAHAHAHAHA

My wife's boss, the main doctor at the family practice office where she's a nurse, is a BIG-TIME, devout Mormon, and drives a Honda Ridgeline. lololol

Exactly... We should all watch South Park, we would be better off, and much smarter at that.

What pisses me off is that I see hundreds of SUV's and Big Trucks on the freeways... driven by one person. Now, I know some of them probably have familys and such... but the mass majority of them on the highways is astonishing. Do people REALLY need to drive a big SUV/Truck like that when alone? No.

It's funny, I just had this conversation with my mother the other weekend while we were searching for a truck for me to buy... I told her if I had a big family, the a nice SUV would be fine for moving the clan around. But I'd probably drive a regular car around for normal stuff when I could... why be so wasteful?

Heck, I've had my truck now two days and I've barely put 10 miles on it.

Bleh, ok so we've all said our peace on the subject let's let this die.

EDIT: Forgot to add this...

Can we all agree to disagree on the subject matter? Awesome... let us move on.
