Well, so far I have tried 2 different webcams now with AIM and after 5min, it freezes completely. Anyone know why this would be happening or a fix?

Is it just in AIM or does the webcam crash any other program that tried to access it?

Have you tried uninstalling AIM and reinstalling the most recent version?

Well first try the easy stuff, like OZ said reinstall aim maybe even try different versions. I believe they even released their pro enterprised oriented aim for free now.

Furthermore try reinstalling the latest drivers for the webcam and even maybe try a different usb port.

Find out of it has the same bug in other software, eg. Trillian.

From what Ive read, what google told me anyways, its some sort of windows xp bug, but the last post about was it about 14-15months ago, so I figured there was a fix somewhere, but I couldnt find it.

sacrifice a small goat maybe.....:dunno:

anyway OZ has good advice try another universal client instead like trillian or my personal favorite Gaim (not sure if gaim actually has video capabilities since I never needed them myself, but i'm sure it should have an open souce plugin if not, to use video with it)
