motor swap

could someone please tell me if a 2.5 Vtech motor from an 88-89 grand am would fit my 84 fiero 2.5? If so, are there a lot of modifications required? thanks, kelly

WTF are you talking about? VTEC is honda dude. Do you mean Vortech? But that didn't come in the Grand Am. The popular swap is the 3800 V6/ 3800S/C V6 there are a lot of bolt in kits that require next to and in some cases no cutting. A no cutting V8 swap costs about $3,000.

He's referring to the tech 4 motor that was used in the n-body cars in the late 80's, and yes its possible to do, you might have to change a bunch of sensors though. Also, swapping in a quad motor is possible, there are web sites devoted to that thing. Just be careful, if you decide to use a quad get one from 96 or newer, most of the bugs were worked out by then.
