1997 valve cover removal

Is there an easy way to remove the front valve cover on my '97 SE? I'm looking to check out the condition of the engine as well as replace the gasket. I can get everythign off, but get stalled on removing the TB and valve cover sinc ethe coolant line is in the way. I'd just drain the system, but I don't have time for that. I tried poopping it out with a screw driver, the after removing the bolt near the lower left side of the engine (near the #2 plug) coolant started coming out and I'm not sure now much of a reserve the engine holds and thus, how much would come out.

Not that much fluid will be lost from the tube.

You might need to bleed the air from the system when you are finished, and top off the fluid.
