I get the sense there's some opinion regarding replacement radiators themselves. 3 row, 2 row, plastic tank, metal tank etc.
Maybe what you have fits and has all the connections in the right place but just isn't doing the job?

change your fan clutch. When this dont work properly it usually shows when the jeep is stopped we already changed that too. i just replaced the trani about 2 months ago and they instaled a transmission cooler in the front. i was wondering if that could be the problem. we took out the therm. it'll run around 170 to 185 but when i stopp for appr. 5 or more min. it climbs to almost the red line. but once i get going it will shoot back down.

put back the tranny cooler, its the best jeep upgrade ever. Your problem really sounds like a fan clutch one. Did u do t-stat and rad cap too? Sometimes the cheap fixes work. try em first. Hope u aint uused the old cap on the new rad.

Hope u aint uused the old cap on the new rad.we replaced the fan clutch, radiator, radiator cap, t-stat, took out the t-stat, hoses, antifreeeze, seems like everything. i just realized today that if i turn off the a/c it dosen't over heat AS FAST but it still trys to. I'm at a lost. any thing else you can think off?

you said you did hoses as well. Did the new hoses have the spring inside them. if not the can get sucked closed from the pull of the pump. You can also take the rad cap off when cold, start the jeep and after 10 mins keep pressing the upper hose to "burp the system" so you can get all the air out. You seem to have done about everything so far. Did the problem get any better with any change u did, or is it the same?

i dont reccomend taking the thermostat completely out. It will rush through the radiator to fast before it can cool down. I would just put one back in. run a 210 degree or less. thats most likely the cause. It did the same on my 93 4.0

Like I said, it will only start to run hot when I'm at a stop for app. 5 min or more. once I get going, the temp will come back down. I'm at a lost.:shakehead

I agree with the other guy on this issue, more thasn likely a fan clutch issue. Try and take it to like jiffy lube and get it flushed while it runs and get an junk out then verify tht your NEW fan clutch isnt bad. I would say its a bad NEW fan clutch..
