PPG Urethane clear - Question about hardener

Hi guys

I bought some 2 parts clear today. I just read the back of the hardener jar and I saw that I must use all the hardener inside the 14 days after I open it. Is it true? What is the better way to keep all this stuff the more longuer, because it's not some cheap stuff and I want to be able to use it all. Should I put the clear and the hardener in some sort of ziplock bag?

is it PPG or Omni? I have had my omni for 2 or 3 months now. no issues

These have use by dates after opening?!?! Darn I never knew that.

I am surprised though. I would have thought that in a dark, airtight can/jar it would have been fine - but I'm just guessing here...

Unfortunately over the time the hardener will become useless (it just hardens rock solid). Good news is that it takes much more than 14 days, you would have to leave it open or expose it to direct sunlight (UV). Keep it in a cool dark place tightly locked and the process will take a couple of months. :)

Althou I use Dupont paints, my activator has sat for months after I have opened the can and was still good when I needed it. Like, Ridefast says, keep the lid tightly sealed and you should be ok.

But the bottle of clear is hard to shut down. This stuff is soo sticky :-S

Do not worry about the clear. This stuff thickens a bit over time, but you have to dilute it with thinner anyway (after mixing it with hardener) to make it pass through an airbrush nozzle. :)

I don't thin mine, sprays perfectly at 40 psi
