I got my license!!!

Hey Guys

I turned 16 today, and God it was nuts! I got out of school at 10:15 AM so I could be at the DMV at 10:30 AM incase they were early... So, I waited until my appointment at 11:00 AM, and then that went by, and the lines were horribly long, then finally at 12:00 NOON, I got into the car. Then I had to wait another half an hour before I got an instructor to take the test with me. The wierd this was that it NEVER ever hails in San Diego. It never even rains... But of course on my 16th Birthday, it hails and rains real hard.

So on the test I did pretty good... You're allowed to miss 15 points, and I missed 2. One point I missed because I was at a 4 way stop and I let someone else go before me, when it was really my turn to go. But In my opinion, it was too close to call, so I let her go first. Then the second point got taken off because I pulled into a turn lane when no traffic was coming, and the lady said that you only have to do that when traffic is coming and you need to merge. Ah well... Good enough :)

So when I got home, I went to El Ranchito Taco Shop with my friend and his brother (they had to take their car because of the California Law). I thought it was really wierd to hear complete silence since no one else was in the car :D. So I turned on the radio :p.

I'm not sure what car I'm going to drive yet though. *Haven't opened presents yet;)* ;) It will probably be the Jeep or the Truck. The Jeep is awesome though, 4WD in puddles! :D

Well, I will certainly remember this day! :)

Yeah, got mine last August, pretty awesome experience......I feel so privilege since most of my friend back in Taiwan still can't drive(I am in Canada...)...

You did better than I did on mine. I rolled through a stop sign, went 20 mph in a zone where the speed limit read 15, and at the end of the test was a good foot a half from the curb when my instructor told me to pull up to it. Guess she took pity on me - how pathetic would that be, failing your road test at 20 years and six months!! :D

I'm in Canada and we can get our learners licence at 16, than 8 monthes later we can try for the level 2, then 12 monthes later we can go for the full licence.

How is it in the states? can you get your level 2 when you're 16?

gang$tar- once you turn 15, you can take the classes... they are in a huge classroom where you listen to all of the rules, etc. for 6 hours a day, 4 days in a row... Then after you take that, you can get your permit :)

You have to have your permit for 6 months before you can get your license though. And you have to drive 50 hours with your permit, and 10 of those at night.
