Finally hit me... car progressed a lot...

Tonight I was cruising with my boy when I came home. We were just cruising around doing nothing special. This is the one that drive a 96 Mazda MX6 (intake, exhaust, CF hood, lowered 2.5", sways, struts, good shocks, and some other goodies). Stock the car is 160, nothing special but compared to my 140 stock, it spanked me. Plus it's automatic. I remember when I bought my car (he had his for a couple months then), we raced on this one expressway. It's a mile long, and it starts from a stop light. Pretty sweet road. We would race with every mod I did, and he would spank me. I don't remember what I did to finally pass him, but I remember being all ecited and happy.
We haven't raced on this stretch in a long time. Since then, I've done the some things, like the SAFC and the recent stuff. We raced. The light turned green and I took him. Like I flew off the line. He's in an auto with brand new tires, and we both had good starts. But I killed off the line. I shift at about 5700, 6100, and 6400. All early shifts, but my tires suck. They're practically bald at times. I finally look back in my mirror and I see my boy about SEVEN car lengths back. I hit 115 or so. I drop gear and coast to the turn around. He had some excuss or something about not seeing the light, but I heard his tires the same time the light turned.
So driving back home then I was all excited. The car has really progressed. All that hard work is paying off. Yeah, I know... if I had a turbo I'd be made... but that's fine. I'm not there yet, and I have problems with that. I'm ahving too much fun with this one right now. I'm going to get a video camera and tape another race one day. The car sounds great, looks great, runs great, and treats me great. My boy love the car. He gives me mad respect everytime he sees it. He's like, it looks stock for the most part, but yet it's a beast. You've bought a nothing car and made it a beast while still keeping it sexy.
This was my random thoughts for the night. Goodnight folks.

It's a great feeling to see such results after all that hard work. Keep it up man. You going turbo any time soon? I went through your previous post where you were thinking about it, but any decision?

No... no turbo. Not going to. I'm going all motor on this one. I've got that head, and then I'll probably build a block then. It's just for fun. I'm not trying to break any records or anything. Just want to kill all the other imports. I want to be able to spank a turbo DSM bc I have no spool time. Power is all there when I need it. Good times.
On that note... I finally decided to build the head. You know I was going to do this... but I decided to finally start buying all the goods. I've got a lot saved up (plus I may be getting a new job). So I'm going to the bank tomorrow to get some $$$ and start buying parts. I know want that on by fall. We'll see though.
