2000 2wd knock in front end

I have a 2000 s-10 2wd extended cab. It isn't the extreme just a regular truck and it is making a light knock whenever I hit a pot hole or small bump at speeds below 40. I have checked the calipers, steering, and lug nuts and have found nothing wrong. Any help is appreciated.

Maybe the ball joints?

i have a 99 and there is a metal plate that covers the motor mount and mine was loose and was clunking and making noise when i hit pot holes or bumps, don't know if yours has one but thought i'd let you know

does that truck have a sway bar? If so check the links, one long bolt on each side. Usually make noise when turning but a big bump or pot hole can also trigger the noise.
