exhaust pipes!!

does anyone know if 2 exhaust pipes helps out performance or if it decreases performance? because i've heard numerous of opinions some people say it gives u less performance some people say it gives you more performance so if u could post and give me some opinions i would appreciate it thanks.:alien:

on a civic it will hurt performance because it is only a 4 cyl. something to do with the backpressure. It helps cars will bigger motors.

a lot of people tell me that but sometimes i get some people that say it adds performance so im just confused anyone else got suggestions!!!

depends on the piping size. if each pipes are say...1.25" each, then it wouldn't be bad. now if both are 2", say good bye to revband power. the lost of velocity will kill the torque. getting rid of backpressure is a good thing. in the end, you'll put down more weight than a single pipe, but hey, it looks good:D

im also thinking about adding a second exhaust to my car i have a 97 civic. i have quarter inch piping. any suggestions?

they are gonna charge me 50 bucks to add the other exhaust
