well guys im am currently looking for a good silver paint for my jaguar xj220, i have tried so many paints but none has worked for me yet, ive tried tamiya gloss aluminum and i absoolutley hate the stuff, ive tried testors german silver metallic, duplicolor ultra silver, and some plastikote argent silver paint(which looks good but only in sunlight) i am looking for a silver paint preferably spray can, i want the paint to look good not only in the sun but inside as well, something very metallic but fine as well, has anyone tried tamiya micah silver(lacquer)?if so can you tell me about it and possibly give me a link to a model in that color? any suggestions are welcome, thx for the help, oh yea why are duplicolor paints so damn sensitive to humidity? i get little patches of flat paint(which is supposed to be glossy) on my work sometimes, and i cant figure out what causing it
i love my new avatar btw

You wrote one long run-on sentence with 161 words, only commas and no capitalisation. Did you really expect everyone to read it?

I read like half of it. lol...I just sprayed a Celica XX with Testors Bright Platinum Metallic from Plymouth. Its the 2 part system. I primed of course:) It's a beautiful color. Silvers are difficult to get right.
But hey, if you live in the states. If your willing to go another color, Cobra Colors has an Aston Martin dark green that would look killer on that car. Sorry, I don't usually paint cars the way they are suppost to be. Just a suggestion:)

No, but if you want people to pay attention and/or take you seriously you could at least make an attempt. Whether or not it's in the rules, it works. A lot of people here don't read, speak, or write English as their primary language; yet they manage to communicate better and often they cannot understand internet slanguage. Just out of respect for that alone is enough for me.

What difference does that make. If you expect to communicate with people in any format using proper english and grammar is a must. If you wish to appear illiterate then continue to post nonesense.

Good to see you've seen the light, hopefully you read the PM I sent you regarding this too. No need to bold the capitals though, unless it makes it easier for you to understand :)

.....what irks me is that the post suggests that you only posted because you were bored.
if this was the case, why would anyone feel the need to answer?

Actually, it's nothing to do with being uptight, it is to do with what is rather clearly stated in the FORUM GUIDELINES.
I think this has been debated enough, please don't cause this thread to be closed.

Is that smoke I can smell? Is something burning? :evillol:
There are some very fine silver paints available. If you use "silver" as a key word in the Street In progess sub-forum, I am sure you will find an enormous amount of useful information and shared experience.
HTH and please bear in mind that it is just common courtesy to respect your host's (AF's) requests. It's not hard, it is not being uptight and it's no big deal but it DOES mean that you would be able to get so much more benefit from the forum.

Geez, sorry to bust in but please keep down the tone.
Do you expect to get advice with such behaviour. It is your way of speaking which keep people out.
On topic, what sort of silver are you looking for. There are many silver paints
TS-17 Gloss Aluminium, used on the CLK-GTR in instruction
TS-30 Silver leaf
TS-76 Mica silver
MS-2 Bright silver
MS-7 Silver
AS-12 Bare-metal silver
This for the tamiya spraycans
X-11 chrome silver
Floquil railroad bright silver (see the recent post CLK-GTR topic in the Motorsport WIP sector)
for the airbrush.
Much more exists, but this is all I will put effort in with your tone of speaking. Keep in mind, in future try to make as normal correct english sentences as possible. Not all have english as there native thongue around her, just as me  And keep the rudeness out in future as well. Don't demand anything, people respond as they like.
Wish you luck with your paintjob and have fun around here, as we do and like to have.
regards,
kai

Well i hate ts-17 and silver leaf just doesnt have enough metallic particles. What are ms paints? Are they apart of tamiya? Are those for rc bodies?
freakray

MS paints are a range Tamiya produced. The RC paints are PS series which are for polycarbonate plastics.

I thought those where ment to be on smaller airplanes.
I used them (also the Nissan 350Z JGTC as a ms paint in the instructionsheet I though) on 1/24 cars and work fine. The paint is better because it was originaly for smaller models, so it looks better on a 1/24. Some paints leave too big particals behind.
Edit: AS is on the 350 instructionsheet not MS, but seems to me it is nearly the same, also for smaller plastickits
