I see alot of people saying after they put on FMIC's that there cars overheat.
I did some different things to help with it and maybe it will help you out,

1. Get a 180degree thremastat with some redline water wetter this helped me out ALOT.

2. You can take out your A/C unit like i did, but i live in philly so its usally not to hot compaired to other places.

3. Now this is the Mod i did and alot of people may think this is outrite stupid but i got a after market radiator from a 99 civic si (the tiny ones) with a after market fan and now im use'ing that in my 92 gst with NO prob's. It works for me becuase now i got air flow to my FMIC and my radiator all the time while driveing.

4. I seen people hot wire there fan to run all the time, i never tryed this but i dont think it could be good for the fan motor to be running all the time.

Well hopfully this helps you guys out, leave some info or some mods you did to stop overheating.

yeah mike this i know, but now with people putting FMIC's in from of there A/C its blocking there air flow to there radiator, thus for is the result overheating. by the way wheres my 1g? did you sell it

I got one of the biggest if not the biggest fmic core out there, no overheating in 100 degree texas weather. Completely stock cooling system. 50/50 mix

like i said somthing else could and prolly is wrong, i sold off all my talon's and 'clipse's

Hes overheating due to air not going through the radiator, not something else. The IC is acting like a blocker and not enough air is getting to the radiator. Better ducting should do wonders as well. There was just a thread on this like 4 days ago.

A 3" core and a 3.5" core are a big difference in flow through to the radiator. I believe the drag through the core (for ambient air) goes up exponentially with thickness. I also had cooling system trouble with a 24x12.3.5, as has everyone else that I know of running such a core in the summer. It definitely does not mean that there is something else wrong with the car :)

i was just about to say that, but i decided not too. i dont know what's wrong with him now, he used to have a dsm, but now he doesnt. like you said he should go to the lancer forums then. but ohh well, i better stop before i get banned.

if there gana ban me for saying that then they can. someone should have said something to him a long time ago. the jump on anyone else that does it and hes not diffrent just because he once owned a dsm.

xavier, dont start this shit again. He said nothing remotely offensive towards you or the DSM community. All he did was offer some advice on the overheating problem and see 2 posts above his where someone asked what happened to his DSMs? Well he was just telling them what happened to them.

but going back to the topic, is it possible to remove the pipe that goes to the front of the vehicle? the one vehind the FMIC, i think they are for the power steering. because they get really hot, i just thought i'd ask this because it mentions something about those lines in the write up for the FMIC on tuners.

eh, fuck it, AF changed the sig size limit again and won't let me update it without resizing the sig pic. I'll resize it later and update the sig, some things are different.

wow we got some dsm love in the air, No i posted this becuase i see alot of fellow dsm'ers suffering from lack of air to the radiator due to intercoolers and i just wanted to share my different ways of fixxing it, but from personal experience i think that my honda radiator switch was the best mod i did to fix it due to my coolant flows quicker and better and also i can get tons of air to my radiator and FMIC. My GST is not the fastest DSM out there but im running 13's on the mods i have done so far, hopfully one day ill be running 11's off a 14b turbo (hopefully)
