'93 Roadmaster Wagon Exhaust Heat Shield

The sheet metal factory heat shield rattles at idle when hot on my '93. The shield is located between the gas tank and the tailpipe. I added fasteners to it awhile ago and bent it to clear the gas tank and tailpipe, but it still is too flimsy to not rattle. It is quite a loud rattle. I can reach the shield and stop the rattle through the right side wheelwell, but my repair efforts were not good enough.

Anyone experienced this or have a fix for this?
