Anyone have experience with them,are they worth the effort and is the noise a big issue.

I used one for years. I had the noisy model. The advantage is it keeps timing from fluctuating. The bad part is it transfers harmonics from the crank to the valve train. I would assume it would out last a chain, but I didn't have it long enough to find out.
